In Loving Memory of Eila Elisabet Melantie (nee Hannuniemi) 85 years Suddenly on Tuesday, May 19, 2015 at Health Sciences North Beloved wife of Antti (predeceased 1998). Loving äiti (mother) of Eeva-Liisa St-Denis (Paul) and Esa (Lisette). Cherished mummu of Valerie, Sylvie, Amanda and Dylan. Dear sister of Laila, Maire and Juhani all of Finland and predeceased by Erkki. She will be missed by many family and friends in Canada and in Finland. Eila immigrated to Canada in 1957 from Kemijarvi, Finland, at the age of 27 years, married Antti and settled in Levack for 41 years, where she was a homemaker, an avid gardener and baker. People would often stop to admire her beautiful flowers. Eila was a devoted and faithful member of St. Matthew’s Finnish Lutheran Church for 58 years. Since moving to Sudbury 17 years ago, she became a dedicated volunteer visiting the Finnish community in various nursing homes and hospitals. Her family will miss her Finnish pancakes, pulla bread and joyful presence. God had blessed her with a long and healthy life.
