Walter William Dominick, 76, passed away surrounded by his loving family May 22nd, 2015 at Health Sciences North after a courageous battle with cancer. Walter is predeceased by his parents Nicholas & Catherine of Wanapitae. He is survived by his loving wife, Marlene Ivy (nee Olinik) of 55 years. They were married in Sudbury on October 17th, 1959. Walter is lovingly remembered by his wife Marlene, and children Michael (Patsy), Karen (John Sagman), Jason and Judy. Sadly missed by brother Steve (Jenny) of St. Catharines, many brothers-in-law & sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and other relatives. Born February 3rd, 1939 and educated in Sudbury, he worked for INCO before starting his own construction company in 1965. Walter enjoyed gardening and was known for growing exceptional garlic. He was passionate about wintering at his home in Treasure Island, Florida. Walter was an avid golfer who especially enjoyed his yearly trip to Gaylord, MI., with his brother-in-law Jake and a group of friends. Walter was a member of the Idylwylde Golf Club, and was a lifelong member of the Ukrainian National Federation where he volunteered. The family wishes to acknowledge with deep appreciation the nursing staff of the oncology unit and his lifetime physician Dr. Raymond Sawkiw. Funeral Visitation in the Jackson and Barnard Funeral Home 233 Larch Street, Sudbury (Friends may call 2-5; 7-9pm Tuesday only) Funeral Service in the R. J. Barnard Chapel Wednesday, May 27th, 2015 at 11:30am. Cremation at the Park Lawn Crematorium. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Northern Cancer Foundation would be appreciated.
