In Loving Memory of Gerald “Turtle” Gagnon 84 years A lifelong resident of Coniston, who passed away peacefully Tuesday May 26th, 2015 at St. Gabriel’s Villa, Chelmsford. Beloved brother of Shirley Barbe (late Ernest), the late Harley (Monica), the late Carl (late Roberta), Blain and Arlene Bellamy (Ken). Sadly missed and lovingly remembered by 16 nephews and nieces, 28 great nephews and nieces and 16 great-great nephews and nieces. Predeceased by his parents Harold and Agatha (nee Kirwan) Gagnon. Gerald was a loving, kind, generous man. He took great care of his widowed mother and elderly uncle and aunt until their passing. He then lovingly took on the role of head of the family and became the tie that bound his family together. He made sure everyone was taken care of, visited his brothers and sisters as well as his cherished nephews, nieces and their families regularly. A family man he was. Gerald was a long time employee at INCO, retiring in 1984. He was also an avid sportsman enjoying camping, fishing, hunting, loved his Blue Jays was an avid curler and golfer. He enjoyed blueberry picking and as a gardener he is remembered for his tomatoes, cucumbers and secret potato growing technique. A man of great faith he also was a Eucharistic minister at St. Paul the Apostle Church in Coniston. Resting at the Jackson and Barnard Funeral Home 233 Larch St. Sudbury. (Friends may call 7-9 PM Thursday evening only). Funeral Mass at St Paul the Apostle Church, 38 Cedar St. Coniston, Friday May 29th, 2015 at 11 AM. Cremation at the Park Lawn Crematorium. Donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or to the Cancer Centre would be greatly appreciated.
