FORTIN, Iona (BOND)

In Loving Memory of Iona Fortin (nee Bond), 85 years. She peacefully passed away on Tuesday June 23rd, 2015, at Pioneer Manor, Sudbury. Beloved wife of Harris Fortin (predeceased 2007). Loving mother of Angela Gereghty (Alan), Norman and Laura Sabovitch (Rob). Cherished grandmother of Matt Gereghty (Sheena), and Megan Gereghty. Dear sister of Bridget McDonald (Graham predeceased), Marie Briand (Cecile) both predeceased, Elaine Fortin (Danny), Angela Bond (predeceased) and special “sister” of Margrette Rooney. Sister-in-law of Cammy Annett (Russell), and Wallace Fortin (Martha). Iona enjoyed spending time with her many nieces, nephews, extended family and especially her grandchildren. She loved giving advice and listening to stories from her many visitors and the staff. She will be remembered for her feisty and strong spirit. The family would like to thank the staff at Pioneer Manor for their excellent care and compassion during Iona’s stay. Memorial Funeral Mass at St. Patrick’s Church, 39 Walford Road, Sudbury, Friday June 26th, 2015 at 10am. (Friends may call at the church on Friday after 9:30am) Interment in the Civic Memorial Cemetery. Cremation at the Park Lawn Crematorium. In memory of Iona donations to the M.S Society and the Northern Cancer Foundation would be greatly appreciated. Arrangements entrusted to the Jackson and Barnard Funeral Home, Sudbury.
