In Loving Memory of Joseph “Joe” Woitowich Feb 23, 1930 – July 31, 2015 Beloved husband of Inga Woitowich (Marsy) for 30 years, passed away on July 31st, 2015 at Pioneer Manor after a long courageous battle with Diabetes. Joe was born in Ingersoll, Ontario on February 23rd, 1930 to Andrew and Fannie (both predeceased). He was also predeceased by his brothers, Walter and Michael (wife Helen) and sisters Vera (nee DeFlorio) and Nettie (nee Pentesco). He will be sadly missed by his three sons William (wife Sandra) Peter and Edward and his grandchildren Matthew and Michelle and his sister-in-law Eila Becker. Joe was an avid sportsman all his life, playing football for the Sudbury Hardrocks in the 50’s, baseball in the INCO leagues, semi-pro hockey in Indianapolis, Indiana, St Paul, Minnesota and Jacksonville Florida, but his passion was golf. His childhood caddy jobs at the Idylwylde Country Club fuelled his passion to become a golf professional, as well as a golf superintendant. He shared this passion with many golfers in Sudbury as the club pro at the Fairway Golf Club and the Countryside Golf Club (now PineGrove). He also enjoyed his time at the Espanola course and designing and building the Sauble River Golf Course in Massey, as well as courses in Val Caron and Markstay golf courses. His travels took him to golf in Hawaii, Florida, South Carolina, Spain and Scotland particularly the Home of Golf – St Andrew’s Royal and Ancient. The family would like to express sincere gratitude to Joe’s caregivers at Pioneer Manor and St Joseph’s Continuing Care Centre. Visitation in the Jackson and Barnard Funeral Home 233 Larch Street, Sudbury where friends may call Wednesday, August 5th, 2015 from 4-8pm and after 12pm Thursday. Funeral Service in the R.J.
