In Loving Memory of Marjorie Ellen Jones (nee Pawson) 91 years Thursday, February 4th, 2016 at Health Sciences North, Sudbury. Beloved wife of Stanley Robert Jones. Loving mother of Heather Jones, Robert “Bruce” Jones (wife Susan), “Douglas” Norman Jones (wife Beverley) and John “Scott” Jones (wife Carolyn). Cherished grandmother of Sean, Gregory, Ashley, Kristin, Ryan, Katie, Shannon, Tiffany, Drew, Mitchell, Liam and Hudson and 8 great grandchildren. Dear daughter of Norman and Myrtle (Somerville) Pawson predeceased. Dear sister of Dorothy Bell predeceased, Evelyn Lefebvre predeceased and Eleanore Oram. Sadly missed by nieces and nephews. Born in Winnipeg, Marjorie grew up in Sudbury. She married Stanley Jones in 1951 in Sudbury. She worked at INCO and then the Sudbury Board of Education retiring in 1988. A woman of faith, she belonged to St. Peter’s United Church and the U.C.W. She was a member of Beta Sigma Phi sorority. She also belonged to the Caruso Club, Golden Age Club and the Stitchery Guild. Marjorie regularly went to the Parkside Older Adult Center where she created beautiful carvings and stained glass pieces. She will be remembered for her inspired work ethic and devotion to her family. The light of her life will be cherished by all who knew and loved her. Memorial Visitation at the Jackson and Barnard Funeral Home 233 Larch Street, Sudbury (Friends may call 2-5; 7-9:00 P.M. Sunday with a Beta Sigma Phi sorority service at 7:00 P.M. Sunday) Memorial Service at St. Peter’s United Church, 203 York Street, Sudbury Monday, February 8th, 2016 at 11am. Cremation with interment in the family plot at the Park Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Hearth and Stroke Foundation or St. Peter’s United Church would be appreciated.
